Ivan Cheparinov, the second of Veselin Topalov, won the tournament Sigeman & Co. One round before the end he is 1,5 ahead. Currently Cheparinov does not have a lost game. He plays later today with the second in the table, Jan Timman.
Cheparinov has finished first at the last several opens where he participated and had a wonderful performance in Dresden where he lost the title in a tiebreak. He will now have some rest and help Topalov prepare for the upcoming M-tel Masters. In an interview for chessdom.com he thanked his manager Silvio Danailov for the development of chess and also Veselin Topalov for his work.
Cheparinov’s next tournament is in August and he expressed his desire to win the title there.
